CHEO produces an annual bilingual report for investors and stock holders to view all their information from that year. This booklet is typically heavily text based and crammed with images.
I took a new approach to designing this report. I wanted something that did not visually overwhelm you when you looked at it. I wanted something easy to read and easy to locate the information you wanted.
I chose bright fun colours that made the report pop. I used a sans-serif font to keep the text easy to read and clean. There are large page number so the information you want can be easily located. Each section of the report is broken down into colour coordinated parts, that way you can go to the table of contents and know which colour section you want to be in.
Each spread has an english page (left side) and a french page (right side) so the content is consistent and easy to follow along no matter what language you are reading it in.
Yoga Basics Brochure
Typographic re-design of a four page yoga brochure. Using the original logo, I changed the colours of the logo and used brighter colours throughout the brochure to make it pop.
I used variations of type layout to make the brochure more visually pleasing and went with a three column grid throughout the brochure to keep it consistent and to fit all the content in without having long line lengths.
Pretty Pots Branding
Rebrand of a small local flower shop in my hometown. The shop originally had a simple, typographic logo with not much flare to it. I chose to take a modern, simple yet elegant approach to their rebrand. With this approach the client was hoping to reach a new demographic.
I designed a simple clean logo with a small touch of the flower aspect to be used on all types of mediums. I executed the logo on flower packaging, bags, boxes and labels to show how the full branding would look.
Whittard's Tea Packaging
Package redesign of loose leaf tea from a high end tea store called Whittard's Tea located in London, England. Original packaging was paper and had a lot of excess space.
This redesign was to make the product packaging more eco-friendly by using tins that can be recycled, or reused resulting in less waste. These containers can also be easily stacked and stored on the shelves.
These containers are colour coordinated to which type of tea you are purchasing to make the selection process easier for the customer (for example blue is for black teas. purple is for fruit infused teas, green is for green teas and black is for white teas).
5/9 brewery branding
Logo and branding creation for a good friend of mine who does home-brewing. Fivenine was the name given to me and from there I created a logo to be placed on beer labels.
Within the emblem of the logo there is a hop (used to create beer), the numbers 5 and 9 to represent the name of the company, the Chinese symbol for gold (more on that reason in person), and lastly the cross is made out of beer paddles (which are used to stir beer when you are brewing).
I applied the logo to a can, coaster, t-shirt, and beer glass to show how the logo can be used in various ways and also showing a complete branding package.
Bakers Bean Branding
Rebranding a small local coffee shop that had a bright orange and black colour scheme. I chose a more muted colour palette to give a soothing/calming vibe that I believe coffee shops should have. I created a new logo and look for this coffee shop.
I designed new to-go cups in various sizes and colours to fit their new branding. I also designed custom coffee bean bags to store their coffee in and a smaller custom designed bag for customer purchases.
Potentia Journal Cover
Print journal cover design for Ottawa University's Centre for International Policy Studies (CIPS). The cover was designed to be modern and clean, with a colour palette chosen by the client. The IPS group wanted a fresh new look for their online journal.
Barely Local Event
FancyBoys and COMMON Eatery co-hosted a JUNO weekend event and partnered with Women in Music Canada to bring together creative individuals.
As part of my six week internship with FancyBoys, I worked on creating an invitation for this event to be sent out to all invitees. I created social media graphics for the event to be posted on both FancyBoys and COMMON's social media accounts. I helped design a landing page for the RSVP website.
I was fortunate enough to be able to attend this event and it was an amazing experience to network with others and be surrounded by other creative individuals. The food and music were incredible!
WIMC Juno Event
Women in Music Canada hosted a weekend JUNO event inviting women in the music industry and other creative industries to join together and network.
As part of my six week internship with FancyBoys, I worked on creating an invitation for this event to be sent out to all invitees. I created slides to be shown on the screen at the event with all sponsor logos. I created social media graphics for WIMC to post to their accounts to raise awareness for this event. I worked on creating a large 9' x 9' sponsor wall with all participating company logos. This was displayed at the entrance for guests to take photos in front of.
I was fortunate enough to be able to attend this event as co-social media coordinator. My colleague and I went to the event and had access to WIMC's social media accounts such as; Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat. We made custom hashtags and posted lots of videos/images to their social media to spread the word about Women in Music!
Logo and brand creation for EFS an exterior finishing specialist company located in the Ottawa area.
I designed a clean simple typographic logo for the client to use for business cards, outdoor signage, employee t-shirts and a truck wrap.
Logo creation for CableQ a non-destructive cable testing service as part of Energy Ottawa and affiliated with Hydro Ottawa.
I created a clean simple typographic logo based off feedback from the client while using the original colour palette from Energy Ottawa.
Creating a clean modern magazine layout with all black and white imagery. The magazine layout is based off a six column grid and uses two different font options.
I kept all the images black and white to give off an elegant look and feel to the magazine. I chose a serif font for the titles of each article to stay consistent with the elegant feel.
